Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, activated charcoal, and salt.
- Add cubed cold butter and use a pastry cutter or fingers to ensure mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually pour in buttermilk and stir until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times, then shape into a 1-inch thick disk.
- Cut into wedges and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until tops are firm and slightly cracked, then cool slightly.
- Decorate with red and orange edible glitter before serving for a fiery effect.
