Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Divide the dough into two disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out one dough disk to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use an Avengers gauntlet-shaped cookie cutter or a custom template to cut out the cookies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cooling completely on wire racks.
- Prepare royal icing in various colors, especially gold, purple, and metallic shades for the gauntlet details.
- Fill piping bags fitted with small tips and pipe the details onto the cooled cookies, mimicking the Infinity Stones and the gauntlet’s intricate design.
- Use edible gold dust to add a shimmering effect on the gold parts for an extra Marvel touch.
- Allow the icing to set completely before handling.
Notes
- Store decorated cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Ensure the icing is fully dry before stacking to prevent smudging.
- For longer storage, freeze cookies in an airtight container for up to one month and thaw at room temperature before serving.
