Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, drumettes and wingettes separated
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- Optional: Blue food coloring
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
- Add the barbecue sauce and mix well, coating each wing. Optionally, add blue food coloring for a Gotham touch. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably longer.
- Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange wings in a single layer.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165ยฐF (74ยฐC). Broil for extra crispiness if desired.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, pat the wings dry before seasoning.
- Marinate the wings overnight for richer flavor.
- If smoked paprika is unavailable, regular paprika can be used.
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
- Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet for even cooking.
