Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy using a stand mixer.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until dough forms. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
- Use a teacup-shaped cutter or a freehand shape to cut out cookies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Let cool before decorating.
