- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- For Glaze: 1/4 cup matcha powder, 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk, 2 tablespoons hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and matcha powder.
- In a separate large bowl, beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Mix matcha powder, condensed milk, and hot water to make the glaze. Pour over cooled cake and let set before serving.

- Can substitute almond milk for buttermilk for a dairy-free version.
