Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Colorful food coloring (blue, green, and yellow)
- Frosting (as per your choice)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract; blend well.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until smooth.
- Divide the batter into several bowls, adding different food colorings to each. Swirl the colorful batters together into cupcake liners, filling them two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost the completely cooled cupcakes with your choice of frosting and add themed decorations like sprinkles or fondant pieces to enhance the look.
Notes
- Store the cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- If refrigerating, allow them to come to room temperature before serving to enhance flavor.
- Consider pairing with themed beverages for a complete experience.
