- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon blue food coloring
- 1/2 teaspoon flavoring extract (optional)
- Rock candy sticks or clusters for coating
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely.
- Bring to a boil without stirring, and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in blue food coloring and flavoring if using.
- Pour the hot syrup onto a silicone baking mat or greased surface. Allow to cool slightly.
- Break into clusters once hardened and serve as colorful, crystalline candies.
