- 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup (120ml) whole milk, room temperature
- 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- For the silver glaze: 1½ cups (180g) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) light corn syrup
- 1½–2 tbsp (22–30ml) water
- 1 tsp silver luster dust (food-grade)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fill a donut pan with batter, filling each cup about ¾ full.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes, until golden and springy to touch. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- For glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, corn syrup, and water until smooth. Stir in luster dust until shimmering silver. Dip cooled donuts halfway, letting excess drip.
- Let set on wire rack 15 minutes, then sprinkle with pearl sugar.
Notes
- For extra shimmer, brush tops with edible silver spray after glazing.
- Batter will thicken if chilled—add 1 tsp milk if needed.
- Use non-toxic food-grade luster dust from reputable baking suppliers.
