Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined—do not overmix.
  3. Fill a donut pan with batter, filling each cup about ¾ full.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes, until golden and springy to touch. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  5. For glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, corn syrup, and water until smooth. Stir in luster dust until shimmering silver. Dip cooled donuts halfway, letting excess drip.
  6. Let set on wire rack 15 minutes, then sprinkle with pearl sugar.
