Instructions
- Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Soak in cold water for at least 15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually pour beer into the dry mixture, whisking until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C). Pat dry the onion rings and dip them in the batter.
- Fry the battered onion rings in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
