Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup finely chopped vegetables (carrots, celery, onion)
- 1 cup ground meat (chicken, beef, or pork)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or cilantro)
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Whisk until evenly distributed.
- Add water and oil: Gradually pour in cold water and vegetable oil while stirring. Knead until a smooth, elastic dough forms. Cover and let rest 15 minutes.
- Prepare the filling: In a separate bowl, mix ground meat, chopped vegetables, garlic powder, paprika, and spices until well combined.
- Fill the dumplings: Divide dough into small balls, roll into thin circles, place a tablespoon of filling in the center, fold, and pinch edges to seal tightly.
- Cook the dumplings: Boil in water for 8–10 minutes until they float and are tender. Alternatively, steam for 10–12 minutes. For extra crunch, fry until golden brown on edges.
Notes
- Adjust filling ingredients to taste—try adding cheese or mushrooms for variation.
- Ensure the dumplings are sealed tightly to prevent filling leaks during cooking.
- To reheat, steam or bake for best texture rather than microwave.
- Uncooked dumplings can be frozen on a baking sheet, then transferred to a bag for up to 1 month.
