Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Royal icing or fondant for decorating
- Edible glitter or shimmer dust for a magical finish
Instructions
- Prepare the cookie dough by whisking together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, and mix until the dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thickness on a floured surface. Use a Cinderella slipper-shaped cookie cutter (or a similar design) to cut out the cookies. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Decorate cooled cookies with royal icing or fondant to resemble Cinderella’s glass slippers. Use piping bags for details like straps, embellishments, and shimmer accents. Add edible glitter or shimmer dust for a magical, fairy-tale finish.
Notes
- Chill the cookie dough for at least 1 hour for easier handling and better texture.
- Use high-quality edible decorations to enhance the look and flavor.
- Incorporate translucent shimmer dust to mimic glass and add an authentic fairy-tale sparkle.
