Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 cup of hot sauce (buffalo or cayenne-based)
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust for heat level)
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack for crispiness.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they become crispy during baking.
- In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
- Arrange the seasoned wings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 45-50 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine melted butter, hot sauce, honey, and a pinch of cayenne. Warm gently, stirring constantly to blend flavors.
- Once baked, transfer wings to a large bowl and pour the spicy hot sauce mixture over them. Toss until each wing is thoroughly coated with the fiery sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately for maximum flavor and crunch.
Notes
- For extra heat, add more cayenne pepper to the hot sauce mixture.
- Use a wire rack during baking for even crispiness.
- Adjust spice levels according to your preference by modifying cayenne and hot sauce amounts.
- Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing for a classic pairing.
