- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the crumb topping. If using nuts, fold them in.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle crumb topping over each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around edges. Cool on wire racks.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
- Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
