Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until well combined.
- Reduce the mixer speed and carefully add boiling water. Mix until smooth—it will be quite liquid, but this guarantees moist layers.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate frosting. Beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with milk. Add vanilla and beat until fluffy.
- Spread the frosting generously between the layers and over the top and sides of the cake. Decorate with melted dark chocolate or sea salt flakes for an elegant touch.
