Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate chips or melted chocolate for decoration
- Black and white edible food coloring for detailing
- Optional: edible markers or piping gel to add eyes and facial features
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
- Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a separate bowl. Gradually add them to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Shape the dough into small mouse or sci-fi themed figures, or use a cookie cutter shaped like a mouse or star to create themed shapes.
- Bake the cookies on the prepared baking sheets for 8-10 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
- Decorate the cookies with melted chocolate for Muad’Dib’s features or symbols. Use edible food coloring or markers to add eyes, markings, and details inspired by Arrakis and Paul Atreides.
