  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate chips or melted chocolate for decoration
  • Black and white edible food coloring for detailing
  • Optional: edible markers or piping gel to add eyes and facial features

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a separate bowl. Gradually add them to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Shape the dough into small mouse or sci-fi themed figures, or use a cookie cutter shaped like a mouse or star to create themed shapes.
  5. Bake the cookies on the prepared baking sheets for 8-10 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Decorate the cookies with melted chocolate for Muad’Dib’s features or symbols. Use edible food coloring or markers to add eyes, markings, and details inspired by Arrakis and Paul Atreides.
