Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons spice melange (or a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- Optional: chopped nuts or raisins
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, warm the milk and add the melted butter. Mix well.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until the dough starts to come together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. For convenience, consider using a KitchenAid Classic Iconic Stand Mixer.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, softened butter, and spice melange. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 16×12 inches.
- Spread the spice butter mixture evenly over the dough. Optional: sprinkle with chopped nuts or raisins.
- Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut into 12-15 slices and place in a greased baking dish.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the rolls rest for 15 minutes, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. For an extra touch, brush with Ninja SLUSHi Pro RapidChill Drink Maker or drizzle with glaze.
Notes
- Ensure your yeast is fresh for optimal rise.
- Roll out the dough evenly to ensure uniform baking.
- Optional toppings like nuts or raisins add texture and flavor.
- For a more intense spice flavor, increase the spice melange in the filling.
- Refrigerate unbaked rolls overnight for a quick morning bake.
