Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 pound ground sausage or bacon (your choice for that classic breakfast flavor)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped (color of your choice)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs like parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Start by dicing the potatoes and chopping the onion and bell pepper. Mince the garlic to infuse aromatic flavors.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add diced potatoes and cook until golden and crispy, about 10-12 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add ground sausage or bacon. Cook thoroughly until browned, then add chopped onions, bell pepper, and garlic. Stir and cook until vegetables soften.
- Add the crispy potatoes back to the skillet, mixing everything. Make four small wells and crack an egg into each. Cover and cook until eggs are your preferred doneness.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the hash and let it melt. Garnish with fresh herbs. Serve hot as a movie-inspired breakfast.
Notes
- You can substitute the sausage with bacon or vegetarian options for different flavor profiles.
- For extra flavor, add hot sauce or spices like paprika or cayenne pepper.
- To make ahead, pre-cook the potatoes and meat, then assemble and reheat when ready to serve.
