Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together. If using, fold in the chopped nuts for added texture.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
- Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Using your thumb or the back of a small spoon, make an indentation in the center of each dough ball.
- Fill each indentation with a small spoonful of jam—try different flavors to find your favorite!
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
