Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of hearty bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or your favorite bread)
  • 1 cup cooked turkey slices or shredded turkey
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce (preferably homemade or high-quality store-bought)
  • 1-2 slices of Swiss or Havarti cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or mustard (optional)
  • Butter or olive oil for grilling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your nonstick pan or panini press until hot.
  2. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Layer the slices of turkey evenly on one piece of bread.
  4. Spread cranberry sauce generously over the turkey.
  5. Add the cheese slices on top of the cranberry sauce.
  6. Cover with the second bread slice, mayonnaise side down.
  7. Lightly butter the outside of the bread or spray with olive oil.
  8. Place the sandwich in the panini press or skillet, pressing down gently.
  9. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts.

Notes

  • For a crispy exterior, ensure the butter or olive oil coating is evenly spread on the bread before grilling.
  • Use high-quality cranberry sauce for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • You can substitute the cheese with mozzarella or cheddar for different tastes.
