- 2 slices of hearty bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or your favorite bread)
- 1 cup cooked turkey slices or shredded turkey
- 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce (preferably homemade or high-quality store-bought)
- 1-2 slices of Swiss or Havarti cheese
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or mustard (optional)
- Butter or olive oil for grilling
Instructions
- Preheat your nonstick pan or panini press until hot.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer the slices of turkey evenly on one piece of bread.
- Spread cranberry sauce generously over the turkey.
- Add the cheese slices on top of the cranberry sauce.
- Cover with the second bread slice, mayonnaise side down.
- Lightly butter the outside of the bread or spray with olive oil.
- Place the sandwich in the panini press or skillet, pressing down gently.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts.
Notes
- For a crispy exterior, ensure the butter or olive oil coating is evenly spread on the bread before grilling.
- Use high-quality cranberry sauce for the best flavor and sweetness.
- You can substitute the cheese with mozzarella or cheddar for different tastes.
