Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two halves, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
- Use snowflake-shaped cookie cutters to cut the cookies.
- Place the cutouts onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are just golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating with royal icing.
