- 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
- 4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss until well coated.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add the apple mixture, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly softened. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Unfold one sheet of puff pastry, cut into 4 squares, and fill each with a spoonful of cooled apple filling. Fold and crimp edges to seal.
- Brush tops with beaten egg, sprinkle with turbinado sugar if desired, and bake on a parchment-lined sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
