Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, American, or provolone work well)
- 2 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, onion slices (for topping)
- Pickles (optional)
- Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil or spray
Instructions
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions. Form each into a patty, season with salt and pepper, and cook on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty, allowing it to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly and spread condiments on both halves, then assemble with one cheesy patty, toppings, and the second patty on top.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with fries or pickles.
Notes
- Ensure even cooking by not overcrowding the grill or skillet.
- Custom toppings allow for personal preferences, including bacon or fried eggs for variations.
- High-quality beef and toasting buns can enhance the burger’s flavor.
- Experiment with different cheeses and add a spicy kick with jalapeños if desired.
