- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 cup your choice of fruit jam (strawberry, blueberry, etc.)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, and salt, then adding cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Roll out the dough into rectangles on a floured surface.
- Assemble the pop tarts by adding fruit jam on half of the rectangles, folding over, and sealing the edges.
- Brush with egg wash and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Can freeze for up to a month for longer freshness.
- Excellent served with coffee and fresh fruit.
