Ingredients
- For Tequila Shots: 1/2 cup silver tequila, 1/4 cup orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau), 1/4 cup fresh orange juice, zest of 1 orange, 2 tbsp simple syrup, lime wedges for garnish
- For Lime Tarts: 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, 4 tbsp melted butter, 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 3–4 limes), 3 large egg yolks, 1 tsp lime zest, whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Tequila Shots: In a shaker with ice, combine tequila, orange liqueur, orange juice, zest, and simple syrup. Shake well and strain into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.
- Lime Tarts: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press into mini tart pans (or muffin tin lined with parchment). Bake 8–10 min; cool.
- In a bowl, whisk sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, egg yolks, and zest until smooth. Pour filling into cooled shells. Bake 15–18 min, until set. Chill at least 2 hours. Top with whipped cream before serving.
Notes
- For non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with lemon-lime soda and omit orange liqueur — use extra orange juice.
- Use a zester to get fine lime zest — avoid white pith to prevent bitterness.
- Cook time may vary based on tart pan size; check for set center (should jiggle slightly).
