Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Divide dough in half. Mix caramel sauce into one half, then add a few drops of red food coloring to create a fiery swirl.
- Scoop spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, alternating plain and swirled dough for visual effect.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on wire racks before serving, optionally drizzling with more caramel and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Notes
- For extra fiery effect, swirl the red dye into the caramel-filled dough just before baking.
