- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork or veal
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cheese slices for filling or toppings
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a loaf pan or shape the meatloaf on a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork or veal, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Thoroughly mix all ingredients until well combined but do not overmix to keep it tender.
- Shape into a “hammer” form or place into a loaf pan. Add cheese slices on top or inside if desired.
- Bake for about 60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing to retain juices and presentation.
