- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid (optional, for tartness)
- Flavor extracts (vanilla, raspberry, etc.)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Cooking spray (for molds)
Instructions
- Combine 1 package of unsweetened gelatin powder with 1 cup of fruit juice in a saucepan and heat over low heat, stirring until dissolved.
- Add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and stir until fully incorporated, then add flavor extracts and food coloring.
- Spray jelly bean molds with cooking spray, then pour the flavored mixture into the molds.
- Allow the jelly beans to set at room temperature for at least 2 hours or until firm before removing from molds.
Notes
- Store jelly beans in an airtight container with parchment paper between layers to avoid sticking.
- Jelly beans can last about 1-2 weeks if stored properly.
