- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 packet (2ΒΌ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1Β½ cups warm milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- Food dye (various colors)
- Egg wash (1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp water)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and dry yeast. Gradually add warm milk until dough forms.
- Mix in salt and melted butter, knead for 10 minutes, then let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Color portions of dough with food dye, shape into eggs, and place on a baking tray.
- Brush dough with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month.
- Great for themed parties, serve with butter or jams.
