Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 3/4 cup of hot water
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 250g of ground beef or magical-inspired vegetarian filling
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- A pinch of enchanted black pepper
- Fresh herbs like dill or parsley for garnish
- Optional: mystical spices like cinnamon or star anise
Instructions
- Start by combining the flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Gradually pour in the hot water while stirring until the mixture begins to come together. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Mix the ground beef or vegetarian filling with chopped onions, smoked paprika, black pepper, and herbs. Add a pinch of cinnamon or star anise for extra magic.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use a round cutter or glass to cut into circles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each. Fold into half-moons and pinch edges tightly to seal.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully cook the dumplings until they float, about 5-7 minutes. Alternatively, pan-fry or steam for different textures.
Notes
- For vegetarian versions, replace meat with chopped mushrooms, spinach, or lentils.
- Ensure edges are sealed tightly to prevent filling from escaping during cooking.
- Serve with enchanted sour cream, herbal dips, or magical potion-inspired drinks.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for two days or frozen for up to a month.
