- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop and extract one cup of fresh lemon juice from the lemons.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches about 250°F (121°C).
- Pour the mixture onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and let it cool and set at room temperature.
- Once cooled, cut the candy into bite-sized pieces and dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
Notes
- Store lemon drops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
- For best flavor, always use fresh lemon juice rather than bottled.
- These candies can be packaged uniquely for gifts or party favors.
