- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out shapes.
- Place the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
