- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Whole wheat buns
- Fresh lettuce and cheese for topping
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds more.
- Cook ground turkey until no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes until flavors meld.
- Toast buns lightly, then spoon the turkey mixture onto each bun.
- Top with lettuce and cheese, serve immediately.

- You can add chopped carrots or celery for extra vegetables.
- Serve with a side of mixed greens or baked sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
