Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Start by heating a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef or turkey, cook until browned. Mix in the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
- While the sauce simmers, cook the lasagna noodles in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer with cooked noodles, then spread ricotta cheese evenly over the noodles. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes to brown the cheese. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use high-quality cheese for richer flavor.
- Prepare the sauce ahead for deeper flavor.
- Let the lasagna rest before slicing to maintain its structure.
- Feel free to add herbs or vegetables for variation.
