Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
- Optional: ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Begin by melting the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Sift together all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the melted chocolate mixture. Stir until just combined to ensure a thick, fudgy batter.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Notes
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days.
- For extended freshness, freeze individual slices wrapped in plastic wrap for up to three months, thaw before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a dusting of powdered sugar for an extra treat.
