- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butterscotch chips
- 1/4 cup milk (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2-3 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until frothy.
- Mix melted butter, sugar, salt, and yeast mixture. Add flour gradually to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread with milk, sprinkle brown sugar and butterscotch chips.
- Roll tightly, cut into 12 pieces. Place in a baking dish, let rise again until puffy.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, mix powdered sugar, softened butter, and milk to create frosting.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.

- Ensure milk is warm but not hot for optimal yeast activation.
- Cover dough during rising to prevent drying out.
- Can add extra butterscotch chips for more flavor.
