Ingredients
Scale
- 2 teaspoons high-quality green tea leaves or 2 green tea tea bags
- 1 teaspoon honey or natural sweetener (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves (for aroma and freshness)
- 1 lemon wedge (for a hint of citrus)
- 2 cups filtered water
- Ice cubes (for a chilled version, optional)
Instructions
- Start by boiling 2 cups of filtered water. Once boiling, let it cool for about a minute to reach an ideal brewing temperature (~175°F / 80°C).
- Place the green tea leaves or tea bags into a teapot or infuser.
- Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 2-3 minutes. Over-steeping can cause bitterness, so keep an eye on the time.
- Remove the tea leaves or bags and transfer the tea into a mug.
- Stir in honey or your preferred natural sweetener if desired. Add a few fresh mint leaves and a lemon wedge for flavor and aroma.
- If you prefer a chilled version, cool the tea in the refrigerator and serve over ice cubes.
Notes
- Use filtered water for the best taste.
- Adjust steeping time for stronger or milder flavor.
- Fresh mint and lemon enhance aroma and health benefits.
- Store leftover tea in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 24-48 hours.
- Customize with additional herbs or fruits for variety.
