Inside Out’s Memory Orb Cake Pops are whimsical, emotion-inspired treats inspired by Pixar’s Inside Out. Perfect for birthdays or themed parties, these colorful cake pops capture the playful and vibrant essence of emotions through fun designs and bright colors.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 20 cake pops

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of vanilla or rainbow cake mix
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • White candy melts or melting chocolate
  • Food coloring in various shades (red, yellow, blue, green, etc.)
  • Mini chocolate chips or edible glitter
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Wax paper or silicone baking mat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the cake batter according to the package instructions. Bake the cake and let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl and mix in the buttercream frosting until well combined and firm enough to roll into balls.
  3. Shape the mixture into small orbs and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
  4. Insert a lollipop stick into each cake orb and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt the candy melts in a microwave or double boiler, adding food coloring to match your emotional themes.
  6. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off, then decorate with edible glitter or mini chocolate chips to represent different emotions.
  7. Let the cake pops set completely before serving or displaying.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Refrain from stacking directly; use parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
  • You can prepare the cake and decorate a day in advance for convenience.
