Ingredients
Scale
- 3 packages of flavored gelatin (preferably in different colors to mimic planets) – 3 oz each
- 2 cups of boiling water per flavor
- 1 cup of cold water per flavor
- Fresh fruit pieces (optional) such as blueberries, strawberries, or kiwi for added texture and flavor
- Edible glitter or mica powder (for stellar sparkle)
- A clear, rectangular or cylindrical container for layering
Instructions
- Start by preparing the first layer: dissolve one package of flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water and stir until completely dissolved.
- Add 1/2 cup of cold water and mix well.
- Pour a thin layer into your container, about 1/4 inch thick, and refrigerate until set (approximately 30 minutes).
- Repeat with remaining gelatin packages, using different colors for each layer to create a starry, planetary effect.
- For added cosmic flair, incorporate small pieces of fruit for texture between layers.
- If desired, gently swirl the layers before they set for a wave effect.
Notes
- Use edible glitter or mica powder to add sparkle resembling stars and cosmic dust.
- Lightly spray edible shimmer spray on top for a glowing space effect.
- Keep refrigerated and cover to prevent layers from blending; best enjoyed within 2-3 days for freshness.
