  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 packages of flavored gelatin (preferably in different colors to mimic planets) – 3 oz each
  • 2 cups of boiling water per flavor
  • 1 cup of cold water per flavor
  • Fresh fruit pieces (optional) such as blueberries, strawberries, or kiwi for added texture and flavor
  • Edible glitter or mica powder (for stellar sparkle)
  • A clear, rectangular or cylindrical container for layering

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the first layer: dissolve one package of flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water and stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of cold water and mix well.
  3. Pour a thin layer into your container, about 1/4 inch thick, and refrigerate until set (approximately 30 minutes).
  4. Repeat with remaining gelatin packages, using different colors for each layer to create a starry, planetary effect.
  5. For added cosmic flair, incorporate small pieces of fruit for texture between layers.
  6. If desired, gently swirl the layers before they set for a wave effect.

Notes

  • Use edible glitter or mica powder to add sparkle resembling stars and cosmic dust.
  • Lightly spray edible shimmer spray on top for a glowing space effect.
  • Keep refrigerated and cover to prevent layers from blending; best enjoyed within 2-3 days for freshness.
