Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pre-made or homemade tart crust (visit our waffle-inspired tart crust)
- Optional: edible glitter or blue food coloring for extra flair
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the blueberries start to release their juices.
- Stir in the cornstarch and vanilla extract, cooking until the mixture thickens and becomes glossy. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line your tart shells with parchment paper, then fill them with the blueberry mixture.
- Optional: Enhance the visual effect by adding a touch of blue food coloring or edible glitter on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown.
- Allow the blueberry tarts to cool before serving.
Notes
- For an extra glowing effect, incorporate blue food coloring or edible glitter on top of the tarts before baking.
- You can use frozen blueberries; just thaw and drain excess liquid to prevent soggy crusts.
- Graham cracker or biscuit bases can be a quick alternative to traditional tart crusts.
