Instructions

- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (and nuts/dried fruit if using).
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet using a cookie scoop or tablespoon.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
