Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: herbs or cheese for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a popover or muffin tin inside the oven to heat up.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, whisking continuously to make a smooth batter. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Carefully remove the preheated tin from the oven and evenly distribute the batter into the cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the popovers are golden brown and puffed up.
- Do not open the oven door during baking to prevent collapsing. Once done, serve immediately for best texture.
Notes
- Make sure the oven preheats fully to ensure maximum rise.
- Use a hot muffin tin for better puffing.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the crispy exterior and fluffy interior.
