Ingredients
Scale
- 3 packs of unflavored gelatin powder (or 3 tablespoons)
- 2 cups of freshly squeezed green apple juice (or high-quality store-bought)
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2-3 green apples, sliced thinly
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Food coloring (optional green gel for extra vibrancy)
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Edible glitter or shimmer dust (for a magical effect, optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of green apple juice and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to enhance the tartness and fresh flavor.
- Once warm, sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Stir gently until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and add food coloring if you want a more vibrant green.
- Pour a thin layer of the green apple gelatin into a mold or individual cups. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
- While waiting, prepare the sliced green apples by tossing them in a bit of lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Once the first layer is firm, add a layer of sliced green apples on top.
- Pour the remaining gelatin over the apple slices, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- Return to the fridge and allow to set for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
Notes
- Use high-quality gelatin for a smooth and firm jello texture.
- Add food coloring gradually to achieve your desired vibrancy.
- Prepare layers ahead of time for a more professional and layered appearance.
- Garnish with mint leaves and edible glitter for a magical presentation.
