- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add cold water gradually, mixing until dough comes together.
- Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and fit into a pie dish.
- Fill with berries and fold edges of the crust over filling.
- Brush crust with beaten egg.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen berries; do not thaw frozen berries before using.
- Chill dough thoroughly for a flaky crust.
- Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra magic.
