- 2 cups sushi rice, cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt
- 150g sashimi-grade tuna, thinly sliced
- 100g sashimi-grade salmon, thinly sliced
- 100g sashimi-grade yellowtail, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pickled ginger, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup wasabi, optional
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup shredded nori strips
- Few edible flowers (chrysanthemum, nasturtium)
- Microgreens for garnish
- 1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook sushi rice and season while warm with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let cool.
- Arrange seasoned rice in a deep bowl, smoothing top.
- Fan or layer fish slices artfully over rice in sections (tuna, salmon, yellowtail).
- Garnish with pickled ginger, sesame seeds, nori strips, edible flowers, and microgreens.
- Serve with tamari and wasabi on the side in tiny ‘acorn cups’ or demitasse spoons.
Notes
- Ensure all fish is sashimi-grade and sourced from reputable suppliers.
- For a non-raw option, substitute with seared tuna or cooked shrimp.
- Traditionally, Gollum would NOT approve of soy sauce—but Aragorn might!
