Instructions
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in milk and vanilla.
- Combine Ingredients: Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix. Gradually pour in boiling water; the batter will be thin.
- Bake to Perfection: Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Making the Ganache: Heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chocolate, let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth. Pour over cooled cake and let set.

- The cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for a week in an airtight container.
- For serving, top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and consider garnishing with chocolate shavings.
- For gluten-free versions, use a gluten-free flour blend instead of all-purpose flour.
