Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 20 slices of pepperoni
- 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
- Optional: shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped herbs for extra flavor
Instructions
- In a small bowl, activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm water with a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. Add the activated yeast mixture and melted butter. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 10 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a flat circle on a lightly floured surface.
- Place 2 slices of pepperoni and cheese (if desired) in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal securely.
- Place the rolls seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Reheat in an air fryer for crispy and quick warming or microwave for softer texture.
- Feel free to add extra cheese, herbs, or spices to customize your Pepperoni Rolls.
