Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup honey or apricot jam (for filling)
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Sprinkles of edible gold or shimmer dust (optional for that Asgardian sparkle)
- Pinch of salt
- Vanilla extract for added flavor
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and a pinch of salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water and vanilla extract, mixing until the dough just comes together. Knead lightly, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Cut into rectangles about 3×4 inches. Place a small spoonful of honey or jam in the center of half the rectangles, leaving a border.
- Top with a few dark chocolate chips, then cover with remaining rectangles. Press edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with shimmer dust or edible gold for an Asgardian glow.
- Arrange pop-tarts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven and cool before decorating or serving.
Notes
- Refrigerate dough for at least 30 minutes for best results.
- Use high-quality dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
- Can be customized with different fillings like caramel or fruit preserves.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
