Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium Granny Smith apples, washed
- 2 black sesame seeds (for pupils)
- 1/4 medium red apple (for mouth)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp caramel sauce (for serving)
- Mint sprig (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Peel and core the green apples. Slice each apple horizontally into 3 thick rounds (about 1/2 inch). Reserve the thin outer slices for mouths.
- Use a smallround cookie cutter (about 1.5 inches) or knife to cut a circular “eye” shape from the center of 3 thicker apple slices. Set aside the core pieces—and save for snacking or smoothies.
- Combine lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a small bowl. Lightly brush or sprinkle over all apple slices to prevent browning and add flavor.
- Arrange each apple round on a plate. Place a black sesame seed in the center of each eye round, then position the eye round over the center of the apple slice.
- Thinly slice the red apple—cut into a curved U-shape for the mouth. Place just below the eye.
- Repeat on remaining apples. Serve with caramel sauce and mint for garnish.
Notes
- For extra realism, gently brush apple surfaces with lemon-honey water after assembling to add shine and prevent browning.
- Use a paring knife仔细 to cut sesame seeds in half if full seeds look too large for pupils.
- Best served immediately; apples may brown if stored longer than 30 minutes.
