Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (optional but recommended for extra gooeyness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, incorporate nuts or caramel swirls into the batter before baking.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate taste.
- Ensure not to overbake to keep the brownies fudgy and moist.
