- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (green, blue, red, purple)
- Edible metallic or silver edible spray (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing on low until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into portions and tint each with food coloring to match lightsaber colors. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll each colored dough into long, thin ropes about 12 inches long. Shape into straight or curved blades, adding small circles or spirals for spinning effect. Insert food-safe sticks if desired.
- Place shaped cookies on baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely on wire racks. Spray with edible metallic spray for a shiny finish, or decorate with dark chocolate or black icing for details.
Notes
- Use food-safe sticks or skewers for spinning effect.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to make it easier to roll and shape.
- Spray with edible metallic spray for a shiny, metallic light saber appearance.
- Use black icing or dark chocolate for handle details and decorations.
